They grow up so fast

Seems like it was yesterday Leo only 4 years old when I started taking him fishing, and from that age he was hooked.
Last few years he's been out with me less because of baseball season then straight into football season.
This year he's a freshman in high school and thankfully freshman high school football games are played weeknights.
Now that the kid thats been mating for me is back at college (URI)
Raider Nation has a new mate.
He's been getting better each trip with the fillet knife.
Got another trip in the am tomorrow.
Maybe I'll stop in at Bass Pro on the way home and let him buy a fillet glove, with his own $ he's been making.
Got to teach them the value of $ and what it takes to earn it also !
Where does the time go ........

That is awesome Ronnie. My boy is 12 and hasn't got the fishing bug yet. Like pulling teeth to get him to go. Breaks my heart, maybe someday I'm hoping.

Nice Ron. Maybe RN should buy that glove, you don't want to end a promising athletic career by a rouge wave during filleting.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.

Ron - I remember when we were "neighbors" @ Tern Harbor.....your boy was just a little guy! Bittersweet when they grow up....my "little guy" turns 29 in Nov. & Chris's son who used to hide behind his mom when he'd see me is now my tuna fishing and bird hunting buddy; heir to the family addiction....those time just fly by to quickly!
Jeez....I think we might be getting old!!!!

He's been making $20-$25 per hr, he'll buy his own glove with his $

and be sure to help him open a cayman island account to hide his money in as well.

There is a fine line that seperates a fisherman from a fool standing in water swinging a stick.

will cook for food

You gotta watch out Ron, they can grow up to be better at fishing than you are. I remember teaching Will how to catch sunnies at the lake.
Here's a 52 lber he caught Saturday:
