First Leg Today
Went to the first leg today to meet the guys & gals ,Eat <eat < See Don,s new shop==thanks Don & good luck
as usual great get together
good thing FWW has a sense of humor////
I left when everyone else left to fish =it was pouring
Made a stop
When I came home =no rain , no wind, decided to take a short ride===WOW what a couple of warm does will do , the bait thats been in the middle of the bay decides to come near shore,. & so did the bass!!!!! everywhere & no one but me , Had three rods with me & took turns catching fish on each , stopped to call the others & at least one 37" fish had just released
I could have had 3 digits if I took the boat , but it was tooo much fun where I was =caught my largest double header tonight , usually when I hook two good ones they pull against each other & brake off=========
got to enjoy the good times ,because of the bad times//
hope the others did well /////////////////

Had to roll meself outta there before I exploded - stuffed myself silly. Bruce and Milo are mean grillmeisters!
Clamdiggah - you missed the helicopter that picked me up with my change of wardrobe?
Hung out with a good group of fellas and watched Bruce and Milo land some nice fish on a windy rockpile. Man, what was up with that shifting wind? We had a nice S/SW that turned NE on us around 10 p.m.
Hope everyone made it home safe last night - I saw a lot of car wrecks coming home, some of them pretty nasty.

Ya, Thanks a bunch Don
I had a blast too. So much food
Nice to meet a few more members and see lots of the gang also.
I had a couple on my homemade darter and another twinkee on plastic. Milo did have the hotspot with 4 fish to 36". Good fishing with you again Fishweewee as you said the tide slacked and wind shifted and the bite dropped right off, not that there were tons of fish at that rockpile but it noticeably dropped off. Gotta hit that spot when high tide is around11- midnight sometime near a new moon again. Good to see mrmacey doing some rockhopping once he got his line situation cleared up and good fishing with you Fishpart.
Good going Specialist!

Yeah, I forgot to mention Don's shop was Da Bomb.
He certainly showed me a few unique "easter eggs" that sure "teased" the heck outta me.
A gem with a wealth of local knowledge. Wish we had more proprietors like Don in CT. Oh wait, we DO!

Had a great time even though I hit the road early, started to pour the minute I pulled in the driveway. Rinsed the gear on the side of the house overnight.
weewee, milo and slip, give me a call some time when you want to hit that spot again. I've always wanted to fish there, had a good time. Bet sunrise would be good there
At least I went away with a couple of hits, too bad no fish.

Thanks to everyone for braving the elements and a big thanks to the elements that really went easy on us for the most part - only a little lightning where we were ... Don, appreciate the misuse of your shop , great host as usual.... Great Ledgerunner goodie bag for the site - thanks Got Stripers!
Met some new people yesterday and good to see many of the usual suspects today, after burning some food it was off to the races... GS, CSK, Budfan, Sprinkles, and myself hit a good spot near the Narrow River (Carl - thought you were coming with us, whered'ya go??) and had a slow tun at some fish but there were some nice fish for a ranny last day of May.... GS had some bumps on plastic and I had a good bass whack on a BM Pikie then the long wait... Switched up on lures for a bit and no takers. Once the sky started to darken I thru on an eel and had a good hit in close and grabbed a 20# or so fish - 37 inches & good enough to get on the board for the 4 leg (didn't know at the time that Specialist already had a 38.5" bass). Hit another spot on the way home which had an acre of bass whacking some kind of baits but we couldn't extract a hit no matter what we thru. Went home in the wee hours of the morning and just woke up
Great fishing in the monsoon last night, can still taste saltwater on the goatee.
Thanks to everyone that brought stuff, came to the Leg & had a good time! See ya in a few weeks!

GREAT time ,as usual at these gatherins',met a few more new faces, nice turnout.NO need to thank us for cookin',SLIP and I were starvin,so we attacked the grill, and then he said "chit look at all this food and we gotta get out of here by 5".So he just kept on throwin' the food on and I kept dishin it out.All the food was great(too much to mention).SCOTCH,my wife said thanx for the OYSTERS.THANX DON for the shop any everyone who ate all that food(or else we would of never got out of there).OH YEA the fishing....I think we got there about 2 hrs too late cause we hit fish as soon as we got there for about an hr, then it slacked off with a few here and there.WEEWEE and I saw a decent fish bout 40'' when it tried to hit my plug, just as the wave was breakin, saw the whole fish come right up with the wave, what a sight. And slip, weewee fishpart, and mrmacy thank for the awesome company.CLAMMA nice to see ya got to fish.THANX LADIES AND GENTS,SEE YA IN A FEW WEEKS

WHAT an Experience!!
It was really great to meet the whole gang at the first leg at Don M's shop and the Beckster was real happy getting a Nice new Striper Rod. Nils C ,Myself, and Becki went over to the breachway to fish eels in the rip and i have to very much thank him BIGTIME for showing us all the hotspots as we were completely new to the area. He was so damn funny it was hilarious. I was looking backwards and Nils C was last in line as we headed for the bridge to fish the slack tide but was walking so funny he seemed KINDA drunk but in reallity he had his eel bucket swaying off his butt and was JUST man trolling his eel as we went!
Damn! ALL that food was So very good and i was so VERY stuffed that i even had a little trouble getting into my waders. Unfortunately despite fishing in a category five rain storm we all got skunked. Becki and i were laughing like children this morning when WAKING UP,as we slept on a futon in our blazer at Don's lot rather than drive home that late->SO .... tired , in the rain.
This morning we went over to M&D'S shop (WAREHAM) to see Mike and picked up a smack it lure and some red circle hooks. We can't wait to do it again in just three weeks. Interestingly Many people, because of my 3d avatar thought i was a younger man who fished in a black leather coat in the surf which completely demonstrates the pyschology of ->>>>> AVATARS.
Each wave that came in on the end of the breachway rolled in so large that it was reminded me of how scary it was when" King Kong " smashed his way through the jungle to get his door prize.
Mr Macey is a very intelligent man and definately deserves his title of Mister . He has an incredible mind of very good buisness ideas and i'm sure he will be living in a shore side mansion before long, where he can pull into his slip at night after striper fishing.
We came home with a allot of fine memories, great tackle and made MANY new friends, so all in all we had a FANTASTIC TIME!
Becki fished like a pro for her first time out (now officially hooked on stripers)and was very impressed with Nils C's expertise and Norwegen manners. well time to water the garden now

It was good to see everyone. Thanks to Don for putting us up. Good food and good people. The South Shore was slow all night, shoulda fished the Bay.
The rumor in South County is - there must be some big fish at the Ocean Mist due to all the anglers fishing there saturday night

Again it was a blast - from the time Slip & Milo took charge at the grille to when I slipped onto the couch at 4am ...
Spec/C-Man/CSK/Red - anything at that last spot after I left?
Still have some people we have not heard from: NG & his wife, Joe angler, Saltheart, SF, and Dad of SF... Waiting for some details...

It was great to see,eat and fish with a bunch of great people. The food was great as usual. Unfortunately, the fish didn't hear the dinner bell. I followed Toonic and Scotch to the Ocean Mist and later met up with Saltheart. After a while, I headed to Central Beach with the same results and later headed to Weekapaug BW to find Nils telling a story about the one that got away . I fished the inside from the bridge to end and back and then lead Raven back to Don's place and went home.
John - didn't mean to mislead ya. Maybe another time?
Thanks to Don for putting up with us again. Good luck with the new place.
