Reel people fisherman of Plum Island..

The documentary Reel People.. the fisherman of plum Island has been re-released.. it is now available on line at Reel People Fish Fishermen of Plum Island - Striped Bass and Bluefish Movie - Plum Island - Massachusetts... it is also available at Surfland B&T on Plum Island.. .. This documentary about the people that fish on the Island and surrounding estruaries not only has film footage and interviews about the present, but also goes back to the 50's and 60's and highlights just what a big fish factory this place can be... James Waldron did an exellent job with this film, and has asked me to pass the word that the documentary is once again available...there are interviews, photographs and film footage of the charactures ( your's truely included) that fish that area...it's an informative and some times comical film/documentary.

I want to thank John R on behalf of James Waldron( I'm going to get him to sign up on the site) and myself for the opertunity to post this here..

A good run is better than a bad stand!

Very cool rock! Look forward to seeing it in its entirety. Soon as I can get the Elmo video out of the DVD I'll enjoy it.

Once I buy a real house Johnny. I generally do a few trips up there every year. I have an annual trip for sure right around Fourth of July. Usually it's a good time

This documentary has been around a few years... It aired at the firehouse theatre in Newburyport a few years back and has been played at the maritime accademy in buzzards bay... copies were avilable at Surfland, but the demand exceeded what he had produced..

And yes... I had a role in the documentary.... i provided insight, some local knowledge about the waters.. and even a little comic relief.. there is a segment tiltled "eel slinger"... during the filming of that section, the fish co-operated nicely.. at one point, as he had a jillion candel power light on a hooked fish, several were swimming with it trying to steal the eel from the hooked fishes mouth...I could have caught fish on a bare hook that night...
