While im happy its supposibly over and proud of our law enforcement and the job they did I highly doubt these 2 are the only ones lurking among us.
Probably thousands more just waiting for their chance to do the same.

hat's off to all the law enforcement and people who helped track down this piece of crap. it was their relentless effort that cornered him. it had to be really tough for the police not to stomp him to death. however i'm pretty bummed to hear the fbi had purp#1 back in 2011 and let him walk.

Who knows, at this point the motive is pretty hard to grasp. I'd think the loner angle has merit but for a father? Doesn't make a lot of sense. Doesn't seem to be any radical connections either, the older brother was investigated by the FBI two years ago and came up clean...

These things once uncovered tend to be pretty simple, not a grand conspiracy as much as just a single thread.

Incredible job of rapid organization by law enforcement and the Feds. That was some crazy #^&#^&#^&#^&. Let's just hope that's all that was there.

Not really. Russia requested that they speak to him as someone suspected in "subversive activities". I get the idea that Putin's definition of subversive is anyone who opposes him. There was nothing in his background at that time, other than the fact that he was an ethnic Chechen, to warrant anything beyond a friendly chat and then telling Russia that he checked out. He apparently was a rising star in the boxing world.

However, I have to believe that the FBI knew it was him in those pictures a day or two before they released them. The probably knew who he was, but not where he was, and released the pictures to flush him.

Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools, because they have to say something.

I'd have to think that even with the technology today getting an ID would take some work. If he came up clean in 2011 why would he be on a short list?

Between the flash grenades and the exchange of gunfire, I would think he's got some serious repairs to do. After helping to get that POS off the streets, the city should buy him a new one!!

With an armed terrorist inside, shrink wrap torn open, after a manhunt in his 'hood, and blood smear on the gunwale. Guy's an obvious Darwin award candidate.

I wouldn't day he was a Darwin candidate. He had balls of steel to do that and is the part of the reason that the kid was taken alive. Had he not seen the blood the cops might not have found him until after he had bled out.

If he called 911 and described the scene in his backyard the cops would have been there in 60 seconds.

I'm not going to fault the guy but he's lucky Suspect #2 had bleed out or he'd likely be dead right now.

was anyone else wondering what kind of damage the boat possibly sustained during the firefight? My mind tends to wander when it's tired and overloaded with info.
