Wasn't bad for me as I did more drinking and relaxing on the deck than anything else. I loves it actually. It was like a mini stress free vacation. Plus I got to see your friends in speedos all weekend! Lmao

Big fish in canal? Really? Never would have guessed. If u like standing shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of other fisherman . You can keep em. I will take my solitude and sanity with less fish any day. Not into a zoo fishing enviroment. Especially since half are googans! I laugh to myself every spring when everone gets all all protective about their"secret" canal. You can't spot burn the most famous body of water on the striper coast. Give it up

Better than half the fun of fishing is the freinds you meet there and the memories you make with those good freinds you made.Middle of the night to the crowds of the day it's amazing the good people and the freinds you meet fishing the ditch.

I fished the herring run about 10 years ago a couple of times before they stopped allowing you to use 'em as bait. Hundred guys out there, never saw more than a couple of fish caught. Sure looked overrated to me, but maybe I wasn't there at the right times (Isn't the day "You should have been here" always yesterday?). Haven't bothered in recent years since they closed the runs.

Canal haters around here. Seems to me that 7 miles of rocks and waterway just isn't enough room to not have it elbow to elbow. Its called club affiliations and that there only one crew who is responsible for those type of actions. I stand clear they have no etiquette when it comes to non- members.
