That is how many Sp4mB0t$ have been successfully blocked from registering on S-B from January 14, 2012 until 8:52 am, today, by the system I am running. 16,249

I have manually resolved another many hundred that slipped through cracks.

What does this mean? Sucks to be spending x Hours per week just on

Thanks John. Gotta be a better way to stop this crap without wasting your valuable time. I'll find out what our guys use but we are Mac based. Wouldn't think it would matter.

Thank you John .

Does your incessant whining make you feel better? How about you just shut the hell up and suck it up? It's a fishing forum , so please just stop.

Thanks John, great job. May I add also that I have installed a tracking blocker app. and it is nice to see that S-B is clean, just Google. Amazing how some of the "other" sites have 8 or more add tracking and tracking co's trying to get my info!!

spend some time

figuring out how we may assist you

even if it's writing letters....adding a name to a petition
or somehow making S-B's voice heard because

when i saw the number....here i was already thinking years
not months... OMG!

CLEARLY, congress has not done enough or
addressed this issue with enough importance....that,(spam)
and the outrageous amount of identity thievery going on
which is essentially in the same arena .... needs to END
..........
Even Yahoo just got hacked and a huge number of identity's
and their passwords exposed....to the internet.
.........
But anyways Thanks JohnR ! for your dedication

Thanks guys - The way I look at it, the system is in the high 80s / low 90s percentage-wise for blocking stuff so that is not bad.

I do have some better solutions that I hope to incorporate some time in the future with some upgrades.

As for advanced captcha - that will also stop the old farts from registering

John, can you help us all out with telemarkers as well? Ha, ha, ha

I know off topic but I'm on the do not call list (which is a joke) and get these calls now from Canada for services I don’t even need. After a stint of being nasty and name calling, I started to play games with them. The old, hold on one second, or speaking in an accent they can’t understand, or talking but hitting mute on and off. It was entertaining for a while but got old.

Now, I say to them "why are you calling me at this number? this is a business line" and they usually say, “sorry, we will take you off our list immediately” Seemed to help reduce the calls.

Comcast allows me to block at the CO up to 40 numbers. I keep adding or subtracting based on the change of what number is calling.

I also do the 2 sec no voice, hang up .
