A Tremendous Lost

Ron Z will never be forgotten for the passion he had for people and for the design of his ultimate fish catching lure. We all wanted to be his friend and talk fishing techniques with him. Ron was a very special person and will continue to be, for ever in our hearts. Many Condolences and prayers go out to his family and friends.

I wil tell you guys a story about how cool he was.. When i was making surf hog eels, I met him at Wildwood Outfitters for one of their surf casting events.. He was so excited to meet me and told me that he loved my surfhog eel.. He went on to ask me what i was using for molds and offered to make me some aluminum molds free of charge.. 'just because'.
That same day i gave some of the eels to a charter captian that worked at another tackleshop and his response was "nice bag.. at least i will use the bag".

Theres all kinds of people out there.. Ron was one of the nicest fishing related people i have ever met.

Very sorry to hear this. I am relieved he is no longer suffering. I don't recall having met him more than once, but by all I've been told he was a great guy.

I never met RonZ but his contribution to our sport was noteworthy. He developed a product that was a genuine fish slayer but even more important,he earned the respect of anglers whose opinion speaks volumes. The Hab man was a big fan of RonZ as they worked together on the Tallywhacker. Catch large upstairs RonZ,some good fishing mates to swap stories with...

Never met him but heard him on the vhf radio many times, you can tell he was admired and well liked by the conversations.

I remember the very first night I tried a RonZ...it was a special night.

It is sad to see all these good fisherman die, the last few years has been brutal on our sport.

unfortunatly i never met Ron,but working in a tackle shop i had the pleasure of talking with him on the phone.we had a few good laughs with the original name of the baits ''the penetrator''.one conversation was on the color of what we liked to fish,i mentioned how just about everything i fished was yellow, sure enough when the shops order came in there was a couple packs of yellow tails for me.once again RIP Ron

My gopro is mounted in the cockpit near the external speaker for the VHF. I recall hearing him on one of the videos I did last season at the RS in late sept. Anyway I just edited the video and posted segment with RonZ on YouTube. The music is fitting I think.
