SURF TOP ADVISE

I have been using a farmer john style wetsuit. When I fish in my kayak my bayman top does not keep me warm. During the summer its fine but its starting to get cold. I have tried using my bayman jacket but I get wet out in the kayak and my upper torso feels cold. I have a Phantom top but I think it would be too warm. I need a top that will keep you warm even if you are wet. I was thinking that the stormR typhoon might be the ticket. But It is expensive and I would like any input on my problem or the typhoon jacket thanks Charlie.

I don't own one but I'm pretty sure I'm going to: Hyperflex Playa... Tried it on the other day and LOVED it.

Neoprene outer with a thin but seemingly insulative fleece layer inside. And not a ton of $$$

NRS makes a nice neoprene jacket that is either 2mm or 3mm. I use mine most if the season over a farmer John bottom for surf fishing.

I love my Typhoon jacket over my wetsuit. I have been using my 3mm suit the last few weeks with the Typhoon over the top. While it is not quite late fall, if not for the top I would be using my 5mm almost exclusively as the 3mm only really works on its own on the warmer nights.

I used to wear a NRS dry top over my wetsuit when it started to get cold. I like the dry top over a neoprene top because it cut the wind.
