That sucks big time. The good thing is that both of your kids are 100% awesome. They are doing good things that you made possible for them. Be proud! I give you and Diane big props!

we go with some friends who have a 15' utility trailer that we load up with kids and a few coolers. he decorates it up in orange lights, skulls and a smoke machine. he plays spooky music over a pa system and we roll from neighborhood to neighborhood. you should see peoples faces when we pull up and 20 kids come storming off the trailer. sooo much fun

PaulS, that's a big number, you must live in a wonderful neighborhood. Was it windy and rainy too? Maybe you would've had more on a nice day.
I counted 107 at my house in Southington, CT.

That is a lot also. Actually we had no rain. Nice mild evening. Almost all of the kids were very young and with parents. Lots of building in my area last few years and all the new houses have multiple kids so it wasn't a shock. After I posted the message, I saw a few SUVs with groups of kids from the next town over. At that point we had to shut the light b/c I ran out. It was a fun night.
I shouldn't of snitched candy all week from the bags.

This is my bumblebee out getting her candy on!
She was having fun until a spider man made her into a mud wasp. Scared the heck out of her
She is 2 and a half her dragon cousin is 2 years older than her.

Jackbass, she's adorable!!
Here's my little spook...Awwww, Daddy's little girl! Her twin brother wouldn't pose, he was a member of Seal team 6, so his identity needed to be kept under wraps.

Paul, your neighborhood sounds a lot like mine - lots of new construction, lots of young families with little kids.
In central CT, it was raining pretty good by 6:30, which was too bad. Kids deserve a nice clear, crisp evening on Halloween.
My 3 sons, cue the music from the old sit-com...

Street was virtually empty last night. Few participating houses and with the rain on and off there were just no people walking around. I remember a time when we needed close to 300 candy treats , now , I think its essentially a thing of the past, at least in my type of neighborhood.

The streets were not that crazy around here ... a few more kids on my street than in the past, however, the rain did impact the numbers ... I took my daughter out and before I left to get her ... I left a bowl of candy on the front stoop ... between the time I closed the front door, walked out back and got my car and backed down the driveway, the bowl was close to half empty if not more ... but an hour-and-a-half later when we returned, still a few pieces in the bowl ... oh well ...
