washing machine repair

I have a top loading Kenmore washing machine that needs the lid switch replaced. I don't have the model info right now, but I can get it.

Does anyone know if there are any stores that might carry these in stock, or would it have to be ordered online?

(I've seen the online DIY videos, and I feel confident that I can replace it myself.)

Check to see if the switch can be repaired, internal contact can be caked up with crud or broken wire.

The switch still works but it broke free from the bracket where it screw into the side of the opening.
I may just take it apart and see if the attachment/bracket can be repaired.

Unfortunately, I've got siblings that have a "burn down the house to get rid of the mouse" approach to home repairs. I don't want to let them "try" to fix it, or I'll be looking at a new machine.

Thanks for the info!
