704 Greenies

Anyone who knows me knows my love for the Penn 704/706.

I recently picked up a couple more Greenies and one of them has a white/blue/green side plate and appears to be slightly bigger in size than any of the others I own. Never seen one like this before. Anyone know anything about it? I'm assuming it's an older model. And in regards to the oldest of the 704s, the "Spinfisher" lettering was raised - is this correct? I ask because I saw one the other day, but it was already spoken for.

Thanks for the help!

Rob

Could it be an old 700 side plate? Not sure if they would fit a 704 but I don't have a 700 anymore.

Here's a pic. I think the rotor cup and spool might be slightly bigger than all other 704s I own. Maybe it's an optical illusion?

The blue/green "wave" painted plate was on the first 704s. It's just an older 704. Every else should be the same.

The 700s had a much darker green plate with "Spinfisher" across it in raised letter. Same dark green color as the greenie 706s.

The 700 also has a SS bottom to the rotor that does not spin, the wave reels were a little different more blue than green than the later 704's. If I can get to it this week I will post up pics of all generations. BTW I am looking for a 714 greenie and a 716Z.
