Lami Infinity/Supersurf Gen 2

Stopped by Red Top today for the Lami Demo and had a chance to try the Infinity and new generation Super Surf in the 11 ft 2-6 range (I was looking for a 10' 1-3 but whatever).

Both rods were impressive. The SuperSurf (blue) was much different than the original generation (green), lighter and faster action (faster than an Arra.....a zoned action type rod). The Infinity a bit heavier (not noticable once the reel and plug were on it, however) and a more moderate parabolic action.....more GSB like but casts further. Very nice rods and worth looking at if in the market for a new rod I'd think.

I think Century is there tomorrow and CTS next Sat. Fun to get out and cast.

i have a SSG2 blank to build for this spring. SSS1202MH, 2-piece, 2-5oz. it does have a lighter feel to it compared to the older SSU's, so i don't even consider the 2 series remotely the same, except by name. i'm laughing that lamiglas still doesn't have these blanks on their website, just the rods. heck, it took them 9 months to deliver them to shops! the production rods didn't impress me too much on the build/design.

I bought an Infinity blank from CMS last year and they wrapped it for me. Absolutely love the rod.

No boat, back in the suds.
