Thoughts & Prayers Needed-Cancer
So last week I found out that my dad, only 58 years old (59 this Friday) has be diagnosed with stage 3c (out of 4) rectal cancer. This is all a big shock to us and completely unexpected.
He was having some issues and finally went and saw the doctor.
They did the entire test and told him, to call back in 3 days, well 3 days turned into 5 then 9, with no call back or info.
He went to a second doctor, who immediately did the entire test again, blood work, MRI, CAT scan, etc, and we found out early last week.
It’s pretty far advanced and he has a bunch of doctors appointments lined up for this week, and looks like he will be starting treatment as soon as the second week of May.
I think we are all in shock still and he’s in good spirits for now, but we’ll see how the treatments go and how his body responds to them. We’ve been out fishing a couple times since the news and I cherish all the time we have together right now.
My dad is a calm guy, very laid back and doesn’t let much get to him, but for the first time in my life I can see he’s anxious and worried.
Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts.

My thoughts and prayers are with your father. Only 3 short years ago at 53 I was in the same situation plus some mega-surgeries, and I know how scared and anxious it can make you feel. I think they've made advances in the treatment in recent years, less invasive, less toxic. I'm very hopeful and sincerely hope you'll stand by him in his treatments, believe me it means alot to have someone there for that part of the journey. Best of luck.
