Pt. Jude CC

Hey guys, Headed down to Pt. Jude CC tomorrow and Tuesday to caddy for my buddy who's playing in the US Open Qualifying round there.

We're guna bring the rods just to kill some time after the p-round tomorrow. Staying at some motel right near the course. Don't really know the area well, so if anyone is around and wants to wet a line, or maybe point us in the right direction that would be greatly appreciated. Hope everyone is having a good season so far!
Tight Lines,

Johnny

Have fun. My nephew came in 11th out of 60 at his qualifying. He did not get in. He is a freshman in college.
He is working at The Country Club in Brookline this summer as an intern. No idea how he pulled that off. Life of Riley.

Whoa, that's excellent Paul! Brookline is unreal and very hard to get into, good for him. Ya the scores we were looking at for the other regional sections to qualitfy are pretty freakin low. Lots of 68's weren't good enough
We're more just goin there to see the course and fish a little ha, but make no mistake, my buddy bobby can light it up when he wants to.

Good luck to him. Give him lots of good advise. I went to the US Open when it was held there in late 80's, 88 I believe. Curtis Strange won it in an 18 hole playoff on a Monday, I do remember that. I think it is one of the oldest in the country. Beautiful old school lay out. Had a 3 day pass given to me and a buddy from a Sports Illustrated writer that his brother knew. Crawled all over that place and hit every adult beverage stand available as it was hot as Hades that weekend. Can't believe that was so long ago.

Since you don't have a lot of time and it's Spring, you probably should go to the beach in Matunuk and fish in back of the Ocean Mist Bar. That's where the first schoolies would always show about this time of year. 1/4 to 1/2 oz bucktails and Cocahoes in pearl are the go to lures. 10 minutes on Route 1 South from Narragansett. Take the East Matunuk State Beach exit.

No boat, back in the suds.

With little wind it's going to be a target shoot, good luck to your friend.
