Inboard Engine manufacturers

Why in GODS NAME do Engine manufacturers paint hoses on engines. (most diesel engine co's do ) The paint never sticks to a hot rubber hose and it just ends up peeling off and looking like crap and paint chips end up in the bilge pump. They should add the hoses AFTER it is painted. (just a pet peeve I have).

I replaced every hose (at a significant expense) because I got tired of looking at them.

Ahhh, I feel better now that I vented. Thanks.

They do it so the paint doesn't screw up the impellers.

Still boat-less at the moment. Looking at several possibilities around the NE and heading to FL for 4 days in a week or so with wife to inspect a few more. I'll know when I see it but I hope to narrow it down in the next few weeks.

As for the hoses, one would think if they don't want to paint the hose flange that they could cap it or put a painting hose on it during the painting process. It just looks like crap to see the paint peeling like that on what otherwise is a new motor.

Being boat-less is not all that bad. I miss it but I am getting by fishing fix in in the suds and on OPB's and I don't wake up at night when the wind is blowing hard anymore.

I was helping a buddy on his rig and saw the peeling hoses and it reminded me of my boat. Then I saw a brand new boat and the fellow was showing me his engine room...All the hoses were painted and cracking already.
