Lightbulb caffiene comparison to stay AWAKE

the ENERGY drinks in tall cans run about 100 mgs.

otherwise: here's the (Buzz) amounts to keep you AWAKE @ Night

btw: BUZZ shouldn't drink coffee because he's already Buzzed

I had 2 Red Bulls once in a 1 hour period trying to stay awake - felt like my heart was going to exit my chest like some Alien from Spaceballs

x2 sometimes x3. No crash and only a little rush. Don't drink two at once. I like to mix it with a vitamin water. Hydrate and wake up and slows the intake so no rush. Can't be good for you though. Like they used to spray kids directly with DDT.

Just my opinion, but every hour you gain from energy drinks is going to take an our off of your life later on. Same with soda.

I agree. Been thinking about this a lot lately as I'm a Red Bull nut. Ending an all-nighter all jacked up on caffeine is not a good feeling. The lack of sleep combined with a racing heart can't be good for you...

I've been wondering about this awhile. It can't be good for your heart. I've been trying (unsuccessfully so far) to get rid of the caffeine habit.

tried 5 Hour energy drink once the only thing it stimulated was my bowels. Glad I wasn't fishing.

Trying to stay awake artificially is dangerous if you can a power nap before a night of fishing works best for me , its the ride home that rough

I used to work an overnight security gig, and my cousin taught me to chug water. It really does keep you awake, mostly cause you gotta piss every 20 mins, but it does work, and no jitters!

I like the 5 hr. energy drinks for long drives.
As for redbull, I used to drink that stuff back some 15 years ago.
Would drink half a can before hitting the night club, and drink the rest on the way home after.

Worst hangover of my life was after downing 2 cans in between pints of lager while watching the world cup finals in an Irish pub back in '94.

Back then they were into the redbull & vodka craze.

I like to eat an apple on the way home, as it is a natural pick-me-up.
Also drinkning water helps, as the urge to pee will help keep you alert!

I am a legend in my own mind!

I think everything in moderation is the key, but moderation is a tough thing for a bunch of guys like us that like to wake up in the middle of the night and chase fish around the ocean!

One time, my buddy picked me up to go fishing at like 3 am and handed me a glass of wheat grass juice - it was pretty disgusting, but was like a natural energy drink! Haven't had it since though!

I'd have to punch that buddy in the face...

I just remember the days of popping 4 or 5 no doze tablets... then hoping the bite didn't die before the caffeine wore off.

Set the background of your phone to blue and stare at it for 5 minutes the blue light stimulates serotonin production and keeps you awake. Blue leds as well. I still love coffee though.

Three years ago I was using either Red Bull or Rockstar to stay alert while fishing at night, especially the ride home. One night got very dizzy on a not-so-friendly breachway...what the heck? I hadn't had anything for 5 hours....then it happened again, turns out it is "A-Fib"....atrial fibrulation...irregular heartbeat. It starts as you "come down" from the caffeine high. Not good....so I cut that out, and drink about a half of a pepsi five hours before I head home....that helps with the sugar and small amount of caffein. Nice boost, but no more of that other stuff..."cafeine management"...thats what they call it....if you get used to too much, it takes too much, but your heart doesn't like the help!
