Boat ramp idiot

Came into Mount Hope ramp this past sunday. Two boats on ramp heading out. Waited my turn, they both left at the same time so I took the right floating dock. As I pulled in I noticed a truck and trailer ready to back down to the left floating dock. Well then I heard a motor and looked over my shoulder to see a boat heading to the left dock. He ties up and now the guy waiting to launch can't! My rig can't get buy him to get me out. I said to the boat what are you doing. didn't you see him trying to launch? I was then told that he had waited 15 min and that was a long time! I then said no one can move because of you. His responce was he didn't care if we stayed all night with a few f bombs thrown in even with children right next to him! Then had to tall him and his female companion they were the most ignorant jackasses I had the misfortune to meet. Are they ignorant of common courtesy or just think they are special? Dammed if I know, Clambo

There are no shortages of A-holes when it comes to boat ramps. A couple years ago I was coming in to the Wesagusset Boat Ramp in Weymouth to pull out for the day. An acquaintance of mine was right behind me coming in to the docks. Typically, one side is for launching and the other for pull outs. But given the time of day and the back up of boats waiting to haul out, both sides get used for hauling out unless someone comes along to launch. I had just put my boat on the trailer when I heard the yelling and screaming. Someone had backed down the launch side, but "Dave", who was obviously pretty well in the bag from too much to drink was insistant he waited long enough and was going to pull out before this guy and his young son were going to launch. Some pretty foul language and close to fist fight ready to break out. I look at my buddy and said, let's get the hell out of here before we get involved.
I was embarrassed for Dave, but he was in the wrong and if he had just waited, he was next in line behind me. He called me a day or two later asking me if I witnessed the incident, but I told him I must have just left before it happened.

A buddy of mine lives like two blocks from the Gloucester HS ramp. He used to bring his lawn chair and a cooler down to the ramp on Sundays to laugh at people.

What's really funny is that he eventually bought a boat and, as it turns out, the "ramp master" there really didn't like his comments over the years. Ramp man didn't feel empowered enough to say anything until my buddy actually started using the ramp for his boat and not for entertainment.

It's always fun docking his boat and hearing him get into it with the ramp sheriff. Pure comedy gold every time.

When he first got the boat, it was named "Bernie" in rainbow sparkle letters on the back. It was great to here agent orange of the ramp scream "Pleasure Boat Bernie" and here my buddy scream back at him, "I'm a man, and my name is Scott, you know that you jacka##."

4-6PM on sundays at Plymouth is the best time for spectacle watching. Everyone coming in pickled from boozing in the sun all day on Browns Bank makes for quite a show.

I saw one guy get pushed off the dock over running his mouth after jumping ahead of someone.

In Fall River its the illegals on the ramp. They think its the beach and refuse to move when you are either backing down or trying to pull out. They swear at you because they have to pack up the blanket, chairs, cooler and 11 kids and move. Sometimes they just don't move so we have to call the EP and have them deal with it. It has gotten worse since they redid the ramp.
