Trolling tubes off Monomoy

I am looking to troll tubes off monomoy this summer. I generally tube the bay with leadcore line and Penn 113's. I believe the water around the rips will be too shallow for leadcore unless I keep the tube close to the boat. Im considering using power pro with weightless tubes. Any suggestions.

That would work fine.
I sometimes troll an unweighted or slightly weighted tube on power pro down the middle of two outside tubes on lead core, mostly at nite though in the Sandy Neck area.

No never. On those occasions its eels as you know although I have been in many a traffic jam dragging tubes too. Over the last several years I tend to stay on the outskirts of the fleet with whatever technique I am using or far away finding my own fish. Sometimes not as productive but a hell of a lot more enjoyable

Leadcore produces a lot of drag with the current there, I think your comment on braid would be better. As far as depth, there is plenty of deep water, and the current itself sets up the need for wire and or another way of getting it down. Remember you are fishing in front of that shallow water with current wanting to pull everything up. As far as T+W its not as popular, not saying it doesn't work, but squid shells, plugs and old fashioned jig and pig work great most of the time. Remember there are deep and shallow rips, all can hold fish
