this flu sucks
Didn't get a flu shot this year. Don't know why, just didn't. Bunch of the college kids had it. Now it's my turn. Each flu is different. This one didn't have a high fever, and I wasn't heavily congested in chest or lungs, but the "empty"cough to get stuff up makes my head hurt. Think I am on the upswing. Hope you don't get it.

i have been battling it as well but winning the war
my ammo is Echinacea with Goldenseal root
(golden seal goes back to biblical times)
(echinacea herb bumps your immune response way up)
i also use EMERGEN C paks in glasses of OJ
and take muscinex too to keep any Phlegm off the air valve

Ugh, me too. It hit me hard starting last Sunday. I thought it was cold coming on but ended up much worse. Agree on the dry cough, its the worse part of it this time around.

No flu for us (yet) but we had the gti bug tear through the house like a wild fire startin about 5 xmas mornin. Blow out both ends non stop for 6-8 hrs and then gone. One person at a time thank god.
Wife asked why it couldnt just hit us all at once and i said how would we ever deal with 3 kids blowin everywhere when we were too.

It has been a week now since the onset. Cough is still knocking the chit out of me. Calling doctors office to see if I can get something to treat the cough before I break some ribs.....

Good luck Ross, sounds like you've got it pretty bad.
I'm finally over it and back to the gym, felt like chit for 2 weeks anyway
Bring on spring.

for dry cough you use RICOLA herbal cough drops
several flavors cherry and herbal
vicks are way to strong i think
cherry cough syrup by vicks stops the coughs tho
long enough to fall asleep ...only problem with it
is it knocks you out (fast asleep)a little too well
has acetaminophen in it which i HIGHLY recommend
you take SPARINGLY (bad for the liver)
"thayer's slippery elm throat lozenges"
soothes a sore throat real good.

I am right there with ya, dry painful cough. In the AM I have been able to actually clear my chest but its not the problem. Its just a dry hammering cough.

flu shots prepare the body for flu that used to be....
which doesn't prepare you for bugs that morphed into
new versions....
part of your strategy has to be keeping your immune system ramped up.

50,000 strains were tested
one anti biotic JUST discovered
would not allow the pathogens to develop RESISTANCE
teixobactin’s dis#^&covery
this means technically F. U. superbug
the flu shots are not protecting you because the strain has changed
