ANY NEWS ON RI ONE OR TWO FISH?
Curious any one out there have any news when the governor will decide one fish or two fish? I think that she is stalling to see which way NY will go if NY goes two fish she will go to keep RI competitive, but if NY goes one fish she will go one so RI will look like its going with the program and not go against conservation. Or she might just go two to preserve the advantage for RI no matter what happens in NY. Any one have some insight? I have written letters attended all the meetings, just want to know if I wasted my time on a decision that was made long before, the public had its say. charlie

Wouldn't it require a proposal to reverse the recommendation already approved?
I don't see anything about mass trying to reverse it's recommendation just because RI is going with 2 fish for charters.?

Pretty sure it is up to the [DEM director (thanks dz)]. She isn't bound to go with the recommendation.

Fishbucket - RIMFC advises on a "recommended" management option - it then goes to the DEM Director who can approve that option or, in rare cases, change it. DEM Director is appointed by the RI Governor.
