Enough is enough
So I hate to be that guy because I know we're all in the same boat and there's no sense complaining about things you can't change, but this is gettin old. Last spring was pretty lousy and the weather wasn't half as bad as this year. I drove by Snipatuit pond last weekend and saw a tiny (but fishable) patch of open water where the water runs under the road and was so desperate I nearly drove home for a rod. Any open water in the area? I'm losing my marbles!! Ok I'm done.

Three weeks into March and we're still building ice on the ponds! I flew into New England on Monday - didn't see any open fresh water other than a few areas where rivers run into or out of a lake. Normally we have open water by now in most of southern New England.

The only open water up here is made with an auger or chainsaw.

I fished thru the ice 3 days this week. the fish are definitely more active with the warmer temps.... but we still have 12" of black, solid ice( with slush on top). and this is the (relatively) warm climes of southern/coastal Connecticut.
