Anyone own one. Tried one on and really liked it. Curious of any opinions.

Funny I just got one in the mail today. Wore it grilling on the rain tonight... Can't really say much about it yet other than it seems nice.

after hearing lots of opinions from folks that hadn't worn them I spoke to a guy that wore the bibs and jacket on his boat quite a bit last season and he praised them effusively for comfort and practicality, his ONLY complaint was that there wasn't some place/pouch for his pliers, he thought that would have been a sensible feature....but overall very happy with them

Seems very comfortable,not restricting, at all and pretty light. They are not cheap, 270 at Bass pro, but you get what you pay for.

ive had the proto and the production run jacket for a while now.

nice outdoor jacket, nice for boat fishing, wading or working the shoreline or just wearing in crappy weather in general.

awesome in the rain, kept me dry in some serious down pours last season. wore it a lot for freshwater fishing in the crawdad and was great until the sun came out, gets hot quick.

its not designed for getting submerged like the typhoon or surf top.

wore it all last spring-late fall, has a lot of features, like being able to vent the arms is a nice touch.

they now have gray and blue, the blue is really nice, makes sense to have other colors besides black for a lightweight jacket.

Just curious....if one didn't care about water intrusion....how would it fare as a wetsuiting jacket?

i wouldnt recommend it for that, especially at the price point, theres better cheaper options with less pockets and stuff to get snagged on.

again it was designed for the freshwater bass fishing crowd, and the salt boat guys.

they have some other stuff in the works for the wetsuit market that hopefully sees the light of day this year

i still love the surf top the best overall for the salt

As has been stated repeatedly a jacket and wetsuit are bad. Act as a sail in current, fill up with water, etc.
if u r looking for something for warmth when wet suiting go with the NRS Mystery top. It is a 1mm 100% wind proof top that u wear under your wetsuit. No bulk or added restriction in mobility. Going on 5th season with mine( if i get to fish at all). Best $100 i ever spent for wetsuiting

Thanks Chef and redlite.

I don't mind the pockets...actually it is the draw for me. I like zip up
jackets for wetsuiting, and only use pull over splash tops for wader
fishing. The front zips...really help me regulate my heat.

The last two seasons I have been using the strykr and a cabelas tidal
jacket for wetsuiting. Both are similar to the fusion in style. I really
dig the chest pockets, as they help reduce what i have on my belt.
The Tidal jacket is gortex and like the fusion also has pit zips.
Awesome when the heat needs to get out.

I am currently looking to replace the tidal jacket. After two seasons, I
had a couple of the zippers dissolve on me. The velcro closures on
the wrists have torn nearly off. I was gonna get a replacemtent from
cabelas, but it looks like they are discontinuing it.

I guess I will take a look at the fusion a little closer next time I have a
chance. It looks like it might be a little more salt friendly.

I hear your warning. I just prefer jackets for regulating heat.

I wetsuit, but I am not much of a skisher and do not swim to rocks
much. Usually, at most, a side stroke and couple of kicks to a rock. I
figure if I need to go further than that, I will just buy a kayak.

Most of the time I am in chest high water or less.

On a positive note....At the end of a session, I find the jackets allow
me to open my wings in the surf line and ride a wave right up onto
the beach. Its a real time saver.
