Acadia campground recommendation
Looking for recommendation. I know there are a couple in the park and some private campgrounds outside the park. The more I look into it the more I cant seem to decide....any advice is appreciated!
P.S. we are tenting it

mount desert island campground Jenn. You wont get an A site or a B site probably, but any of the C sites are very good. I think you can find them online to look at the layout. Nice clean campground, quiet time is enforced, not that it had to be, very clean bathrooms and showers, and a nice little store. Central to everywhere you would want to go. Acadia Nat'l Park, or Bar Harbor, the other direction to Southeast Harbor is just as easy. Call soon to reserve. We stayed there many years until Bev's asthma acted up.

Got a friend with property on Swans island ( short ferry from bass harbor ) we'd camp on the waters edge and listen to the lobster boats all night and sunrises over Acadia. Gods land for sure

I was there this past summer. Actually found Bar Harbor to be pretty reasonable and some good food. Was going to camp until we learned they had ocean side resorts.
Beautiful country even with the buses of tourists.

Thanks Swimmer. I had checked out their website a while back but forgot about it in my disorganized way.....I think that may be my final choice. I want the best of both...being close to Bar Harbor and the park, quiet and clean is #1 on my list so thanks for the advice. Been talking about going for years and decided it was time to stop talking and start planning. Pulled out a magazine I bought that featured Acadia years ago and when I saw 2006 as the date I was mad at myself for not making it happen!

i had a bad experience on the Saco river with a bugling drunk (nearby) til the wee hours....
then people walkin by our tent At 2 am with their dog's
tags jingling making my nearly blind queensland with "super hearing"
