Another Sea Bass bust

Cape Cod Times

http://www.capecodtimes.com/article/...NEWS/150609771

Quote:
BUZZARDS BAY — Paul Devitt was moving equipment from his boat to his truck Wednesday afternoon at Taylors Point Marina when he heard that state Environmental Police had made yet another bust of fishermen allegedly poaching black sea bass.

But the news didn't surprise him.

"I've certainly seen my fair share of poaching in my life," he said before pausing to finish his thought. "And it sucks."
Bet CCT didn't know they were with a Celebrity - Two if that was the day of the BuzzHo

Glad to see another poacher caught

I hope those delicious little sea biscuits did not go to waste

Just an observation: All the folks getting caught are being caught with Gross over limit infractions. That tells me that it is not the first time they've exhibited this type of behavior, it just so happens; its the first time they've been checked.

Good for the Mass EPO's they seem to be whopping ass this Spring!

Domination takes full concentration..

I am wondering why the names are not released. I'm sure they will come in in a court docket or police records at some point but why not release the name inm the article. Its not like they have been found guilty, just charged. Most other crimes the suspects name is released.

Everything is better on the rocks.

No names, just the photo and the fact that they're from Worcester.

OK so this is the 1st time these 2 upstanding American citizens got caught - looks like they had a $1800. day or thereabouts.
That's just 1 day.
I doubt this will stop them, just a slow day to them. God knows what other illegal activities these two are involved in.
Look at the rig they got, nice Toyo pickup, center console with a Suzi and a Aluminum trailer, all probably purchased at a Government Auction at the cheap... Good thing the EPOs seized their WalMart gear..
These rice farmers aren't dumb, they'll be right back at it soon making $1800. a day, like they never missed a beat - our laws mean squat to them, we're a joke to them.
If they were back in their country I bet they would fear the law.
Screw seizing gear - deport them. And if from the this country - Big Jail time - that just won't happen cause the Judicial system is a joke.
Rant over

Doesn't look like any EP boat that I've ever seen. They have a few new ones this year that look like inflatables. Very subtle markings.

Looks like a fish billy stuck in the center console, too.

But what I can say with great confidence Most are not poaching for profit they are fishing for food and they eat all that they catch (doesn't change thats its wrong) .. So when you see all those carcase of poorly filet bass on the boat ramp . I bet it wasn't an Asian fisherman

BS - these 2 were all about the money. Read the article and look at the rig and tow vehicle they got.
And sorry, the most flagrant violators of our laws are the immigrants. No respect for us and the laws.
Cold hard facts.

They are Worcester guys. It may also explain why a certain Asian market up there always seems to have a few untagged 20-30 pound bass for sale---in May---before commercial season.

And yeah, these aren't two poor immigrants trying to put a little fish on their table for their families. These guys are selling fish, and doing pretty well at it.

The hell with fines. Take the boat. If it's financed, let the bank or lessor show up in court to fight for it.

The majority of the 1240 + members of the Aroostook Band of Micmacs live within Aroostook County, located in Northern Maine. As far as we know, from time immemorial the Micmacs have occupied the lands south and east of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, the Maritime Provinces and other regions along the Atlantic Seaboard of Northeastern America. The Micmac Nation, today, is composed of seven districts with 29 bands and a population of approximately 30 thousand.

The Micmac language is an Algonquin one, related to that of the Micmacs' southern neighbors, the Maliseets, Passamaquoddy, Penobscot and Abenaki. All these northeastern tribes are culturally and linguistically related. Collectively, this group is called the "Wabanaki", which means "People of the Daybreak", or "Dawn land People" (wabun meaning "light" or "white", aki meaning "earth").

That was
