Almost time of end of season challenge?

Forget when we usually do this, but figured it would be soon unfortunately

Too early. Water temp still in the low 60s.

Plenty of bait around, squid just showing up now and sea herring aren't even here yet.

I think we have another month unless it turns wicked cold quickly.

No boat, back in the suds.

I'd love to see sea herring again but I think (albeit without hard facts) that the pair trawlers have made that unlikely......and changed the fall bass migration pattern by doing so.

Numby - about two weeks ago I received an email notification that they met the sea herring quota for 2016 in our zone. I think that fishery is now shut down until 2017 except for by-catch.

It's been off the charts here at work in the morning, a ton of schoolie sized bass 15-22" going nuts at first light and then again towards the end of the day. It's almost a fish a cast these last few days. I just gotta get something to punch through the top layer, because I know there bigger fish down below. But the topwater action has been too fun to stop.

60 % of the time, it works every time.
