Who lives in Conn?
Hey guys, I'm going to live in Winsted, Conencticut for school. I want to know how many of you are living there and are nearby me. I might need a new fishing partner. I'm willing to pay for gas and food and drinks, but no beers because I'm under 21 yrs old. So I'm hoping to find a fishing buddy or more to have fun.

I live in Andover, CT. Winsted is over an hr West of me.
That's Cow Coutry out there buddy! Actually, it's a nice area, just a long drive to the salt!

They got schools in Winsted? Just kidding, it's a nice area but it is "the sticks" as far as Conn goes just about as far from the salt as you can get. But, I live in Watertown which is just down rt 8 a bit. I fish the salt as much as I can (which hasn't been a real lot this year), and I have a boat so when you get settled in give me a shout and we'll try to get you out.I'm hoping for a good fall.

I do. I'm about 20 minutes away from Winsted in Granby CT. Even though there are no stripers here in Connecticut , I do manage to get out every weekend to waste my time trying (ha!). I now do most of my fishing from boat, but still manage to hit the surf now and then. I fish from Old Saybrook to Watch Hill RI in my boat. You're going to want to check out the spring striper run up the Connecticut River. From Winsted you can get to the Enfield Dam in just over a half hour, where you will find stripers stacked up chasing herring from late April to late May. If you're into trout fishing, the Farimington River is about 10 minutes max from Winsted. West Hill Pond in Winsted is good for trout, smb, ice fishing, ect
Howdy new neighbor!

Hi neighbor Jenn,
Are you in Ct? Must be East Granby, Suffield or Hartland if your near the notch that extends in to CT from Mass.
Notaro, FYI it is exactly one hour to Old Saybrook from my house in Granby. You could probably get to the salt in about an hour taking Route 8 south, and you'd be fishing the salt on the western end of the CT shore. (But head east young man!)
And I lied, there are fish, and big fish, in Connecticut. Access is the problem.

Notaro,
Drop me a PM. I know a few people from New Hartford, Burlington and the Torrington area who come to the CT shore and the South Shore of RI.

Lifes short, CT sucks.
Pick a school near the water. URI, UCC, you could fish the Cliff Walks from your dorm room window at Salve Regina

Ya you're just a hop skip and a jump from me. We go to Congamond Lake all the time with the boat to water ski and tube. Was there this past Sunday (although I should have been fishing).
