Its been 3.5 to 7 ft seas out front for almost a month now. Havent been able to get near water without dying.
Been doin lots of other things in life besides catchin fish so far this year. Suck fest for the soul

I think people are killing so many fish, that physically removing them from the ocean is throwing off its balance. Sooner or later, it will even out.....be patient guys, there's always the Koi pond?

Hmmm or is the problem caused by TOO MANY big fish in the ocean causing all these waves. Perhaps we should kill more of the cows.

Careful..........don't go put a "bulls-eye" on yourself...
Back on topic, these winds unfortunately decide where us small-craft guys can fish, gotta play the wind...whether the fish are there or not,, The illusion is sometimes enough.
You can't always believe the weatherman either....threats of early-mornin' lightning kept me shore-bound last Saturday and I could have easily headed out and been back before the monsoon started...
Always a tough call when you're journey to the ramp is long...not as bad when it's local and you can see for yourself how things really are...?

I feel like this is always the norm for June. Blows S-SW everyday 15-25. Lays down a bit in July on. The only positive is that the fish seem to get juiced up on a SW blow.

I just love fishing! Yes, that also includes keeping some for food (family favorites are seabass, fluke, tog with striper in 4th place).
Another crucial part of fishing is telling tales and listening or reading other fisherman's tales about their fishing trips.
A group of guys that sit around talking about environmental issues and politics are NOT fishermen, they are either politicians or grumpy old farts that cry about kids in their yard.
I am not ready to fit into either of those 2 groups. Fish On
I have a small 16 foot 1968 MFG with an underpowered 28hp outboard and yes this wind really makes it hard to fish and limits where I can fish. I recently temporarily pulled my rec lobster pots due to the crappy weather and wind.

I was out yesterday till Noon and it wasn't as bad as they said it would be. Just go. If it doesn't lay down you can always find a place to hide.

I've been burned so many times because of the weatherman suggesting worse than it ended up being...
Staying local isn't an issue, it's when the commute is loong to the ramp. Sucks pulling into the lot after an hour + drive to see the flag screaming.........walked out of the garage this morning, neighbor's flag was pretty steady already...gonna have to stay local again, ..........although word on the chop is that fish are being marked not far from X....

I check the buoys on NOAA. If it's under 25knts at Conimicut, I go. I can always find someplace where it's not screaming and there are a few fish.

I was out Friday and ran south. Very rough ride back from Gould Island. A few fish, one decent.

And the marine forecast called for seas of 1ft or less...

NE on Narr Bay this AM. Sucked with no fish but there never is in NE or E or SE wind. "Wind in the East fishing is least"
