Shimano Reel parts

Having trouble with my Shimano 4500 B baitrunner. The knob on the handle doesn't seem to want to turn so good. I have tried spraying all kinds of lubricants on it, even Motion Lotion, and it still won't spin freely. I took it to the place I bought it and he did the same (minus the motion lotion) and still nothing. The handle is not removable ( a fixed pin system) so I can't just take it out. I just tried soaking it in WD-40 for two days and still no improvement. It doesn't appear to be bent either. Is there any where around the Quincy area I could just buy a replacement handle? I don't want to have to send it to Shimano and be with out it. Advice appreciated.

It might take about a week to get them.

Redlite- The bearing is worn out. Call bucko's they could probably mail you a new handle assembly.

In response to chief10's suggestion.....is it just the plastic handle that doesn't turn to well, or the handle in general?....

Reason I ask, is there is no bearing in the connection of the plastic knob to the crank (oops, just saw it was a "B", so maybe now there now is, but somehow doubt it)....

If it's just the plastic knob, what on Earth did ya do to it?........can't imagine how that would bind up, but then, stranger things have happened....

If it's the entire crank that is binding, and you have it mounted for a righty (i.e., the crank is on the left), and it's the bearing in there on that side, DON'T do it yourself....getting to that bearing is a nightmare, and while I now know how to get at it, I wouldn't recommend you do it unless you are REAL familiar with tearing down that reel....

Also, if it's a "B", as in the new ones that just came out last year, I would think it's still under warrenty....and Bucko's is the only warrenty service center in the area for Shimano....

And yes, Bucko's can help you out....you can either drive there and they'll fix you up, or send it to them, and usually have it back to you a day or so after they receive it...or, you could stop by my house and I'll see what I can do for ya...(no guarentee's though...)

I'd give you the part # for the crank assembly, but I currently only have the part #'s for the "A" models...

Thanks for the help everyone. It is one of the new models and have had it for about 2 months. They changed the knob from being a plastic knob to a metal spindle that is riveted into the crank handle so there is no way to take it out. I'm sure it would still be under warranty, but as I said I don't really want to have to be without it for the duration that it would take to mail it and have it returned. Is Bucko's the place in Fallreeva? Maybe I'll give them a jingle and see what they can do for me.
