OLYMPICS...YEAH!!!
The women's hockey team won the gold over Canada last night.
They won in an overtime shootout!
Then they showed the Canadian team receiving the silver medals and one of the players took it off right after it was placed around her neck.
Seems like the Canadian team was "expecting" to win another gold and couldn't deal with the loss.
Oh well, maybe they can try again in 4 years??

Shoot-outs to decide a gold medal are the lamest thing that the IIHF and IOC ever dreamed up. Play 5 on 5 hockey until there's a winner, the way that it's done in the NHL playoffs. I can understand why the Canadians were upset.

I agree, but if the Canadiens were that much better they should have won in regulation....apparently they weren't.

They're not that much better. Canada and USA are the two best women's hockey teams by far---they're full time players for the national teams, and the Americans for years have been under-supported by Hockey USA. They had to threaten to boycott the World Championships that were held in the US last year, to get more funding. Most European teams are thrown together just for the Worlds and the Olympics. There are women's leagues in many countries, where they play for their own clubs.
