Fishing thread- Finally!
It's time to turn the corner. Who's starting where? First trip planned? Tog? Bass?
Hope fluke is better this year. I want to target Tog, then spring bass in B Bay, Big Fluke around the islands, then maybe take a shot a Tuna on the top and close it out with albies then Tog. We'll see what the season brings. Goal is 100 trips. 4/1 the foreskin comes off!!

I'm starting the season off in Mexico. I have a couple of days booked with a guy who specializes in vertical jigging for monster amberjacks - should be interesting. I've got another day booked with a backcountry tarpon trip

This definitely looks better than a 20 deg. 10 to 15 blow cod trip... By far!

Driving to Sarasota FL Saturday for a couple weeks of golf, fishing and beach time. I have a Hobie 2018 PA14 kayak reserved for the two weekends I'm down there and will hit the bay for trout, redfish and what ever else wants to bite. Hope the weather cooperates and I can get some good intel when I get down there, but a fellow kayaker from another site has shared some good starting points and methods.

I was just coming to this realization the other day, this thread will no doubt keep that fever burning.
I need to get my lower unit to a shop to have them shim out the drive shaft. Plan is to have that happen, then tow the boat to them to have it installed and then tow the boat from there to the slip. Tog will be the first trip once she’s wet.

You will have fun. Had a couple of AJs in the 50lb class on very light gear in the keys and abacos. They are a workout.

Doing well Billy. The waders and wetsuit are taking a little break while the little guy is growing up (and figuring out how to sleep.) The boat gives me the ability to be out on the water with family instead of away from them at 2am with my wife taking care of a crying baby
They’re not hung up permanently by any means though!

Have a few things to fix and a load of polishing and waxing when I get back. One she's ready to run, I'd like to do a snowshoe winter flounder trip off the SW end of the Block.

When I was 14 my dad took my on a jigging for donkey trip. stuck a 70# amberjack. took me about 45 min to reel it in myself. I was so exhausted after I was throwing up over the side of the boat. Those things are horses.

You're doing it right. Family first. The boat does make a smpoother ride in the house than a late night commando run. Nice days in the summer with family puts smiles on everyone. Our family is well grown up and my wife would rather a boat so she can enjoy the water. I went that route many moons ago and never had the urge to go back, yet!
