I fished the Barrington beach this morning. Wind was blowing like snot out of the west. Tons of bait but not a single strike. My buddy was fly fishing and didn't see any action either. Didn't stay out long as the boat ride was rough and wet.

Same as it's been here all year, you would never know they(bass) were in trouble..plenty of small and large.
We've got some blues when the wind blows east.low/ tide, turn to incoming best bet.in the mouth of the river..pogue schools far up river, but are moving closer to the river mouth with each tide change..lots of herring drops right now.
Tuna crashed the beach yesterday morning as I was pulling pots.several cleared the water, blitz lasted about 10 minutes...lobsters have slowed a little due to the molt.. more Eggers than keepers.

I’m wasting my life waiting on Albies with a fly rod in hand. Didn’t see a fish on Sat, too rough to get out of Quissett on Sun, and swung and missed 4 x today.

Memo to JohnR:
This seemed to get a decent response. I mean, from a fishing point of view it's as interesting to hear what people did AFTER the weekend as well as what they were going to do BEFORE it. Might make this a more permanent weekly feature here; stir up a little more fishing interest (I mean, are there any stripers out there any more anyway? Looks like myself and a lot of other folks fish for other stuff now.)

I think we were over bay anchovies. It was rough, not really enjoyable. Going to try later in the week around sunset.

Did some smallmouth fishing up in Maine now time to burn some fuel and go insane for a few weeks. Got fishbones and his son out last week on the boat that was a blast.

Fished the top of the incoming last night until an aggressive west wind drove me into the grass 1 too many times, 7 upper end slot fish and one chubby momma, well over the 4' mark released boat side..slot of pogies hanging around the docks at high tide.
Got up on short sleep and took advantage of a brief weather window(before the S/E blow) and hauled my pots, 35 total, 7 keepers, better than half were berries females..

spent fri-monday fishing the shores of MV...saw lot's of bonito action early on...very difficult...watched feeds with boats and kayaks on them in several locations and never saw a bent rod....we had them close to shore on a number of occasions, never saw a fish landed from shore though one kid said he got one on a blind cast from the beach...Sunday AM the albies showed up....same deal feeds everywhere, watched the boats and kayaks right in them and no bent rods...the only one I actually saw, was a pic a guy showed me Sunday afternoon from earlier that morning...it was a hefty albie...I'd gotten tight to one just before we started talking .... it broke me off after a couple of sizzling long runs...everything was eating peanuts, everyone was throwing epoxies...I got bit on a small crippled herring, wanted to throw flies more but the wind and distance...the only bass we encountered came into Jaws Bridge Friday night and even they were picky...so lots of all-day action out there just have to be patient and appreciate crazy feeds just out of reach ...highly recommend the campground on MV

Jeez I’ve found absolutely no finicky albies at all. If I get a good cast into them I’ve hooked up. Had a couple double digit outings so far and they are really only showing up in numbers past few days. Going to
be a fun September

Getting anything sucks right now, I'm so glad I keep everything short of a complete overhaul in stock , clocks running on the season, hope you get your parts before the snow flies.

Thanks, Joe. My season is pretty much done, anyway.
It’s funny, #^^^^&y and I wrenched on that boat more this year than all the other years combined.
My season was ripped by three, little teeny choke clips that no one stocks.
I probably could have rigged something up with wire, but I didn’t want to leave people out there while I called Sea Tow.
Mushroom hunting is pretty good right now, anyway.
Beer brewing season is very close, as well.

What mushrooms do you pick? I am strictly morel and chicken of the woods, but would like to expand to hens and oysters etc but not confident with them.
