VMC 6x Trebles

I am looking for a place that sells VMC 6x trebles hooks in bulk.

Sizes: 2/0, 3/0, 4/0, and 5/0

I use to get them at M&D's, but they are now closed. :-(

Any tips?

Thank you all in advance for your much appreciated help.

Tight lines,
Green Light

I realize you asked about VMC 6x , but i have to say I have completely stopped using VMC about 3 years ago after trying mustad 5X hooks... I am very impressed
with them, and actually think they are better than vmc hooks.

I concur on the mustads 5x. I sub mustad 2/0 for vmc 3/0 & 3/0 mustad for 4/0 vmc. They're slightly bigger and heavier but relative to the size replacement.

The number of VMC hooks (4x) that i have had straighten out, and snap at the eye when cut (to avoid the split ring) is what led me to try the mustad 5x. They are very strong, easy to sharpen, and never straightened. They are comparable in size and strength to vmc 6x but much less expensive. I mainly use the 3/0 and 4/0 trebles . I dont use vmc hooks at all anymore... I even remove them right away on all my super strike plugs and put on the mustad 5x

No. I use 6X VMC trebles and Siwash and have never had them fail. I use Wolfe triple split rings and never had one of them fail either.

I gave up on both years ago as they both failed repeatedly for me. Mustad 5x treble hooks and Roscoe 6.5H split rings across the board. Also gave up on Siwash hooks as all my plugs have a single treble with a tail flag.

A well known boat fisherman/former surfcaster friend of mine has a mason jar full of bent hooks. He calls it his jar of broken dreams... when he showed it to me, I asked him if he had a learning disability 😂

love the single treble idea w/ flag. Do you crush the barbs? What weight flags and where do you get them?

I do the same thing on most of my plugs. Not crushing barbs, the flag tails are tied on cutoffs of thru wire from making plugs. 247lures carries them in a variety of colors if you don't tie your own.

In my experience, I you don't crush barbs, it is guaranteed to end up embedded in your thumb
