steiger craft 23 center console?

Saw a beautiful, clean, used rig for sale in NY. I have fished with Capt Mike Roy who used to have the 21, this is a 23.

Anyone have an opinion on these, as a light-tackle in shore tool? Sure looks nice. Priced great in this market.

Heard of them but beyond that haven’t a clue on how they ride. But it’s a good size to start with if is your 1st boat . Not to small you won’t get beat up and options to go father out and easier to put on and off the trailer alone if need be . And most anything with 6cyl will tow it a reasonable distance. I hope what ever you decide works in your favor.

I've never owned a boat and if I ever bought one RIROCKHOUND would stage an intervention.

That being said, if you're tight to shore my limited experience says it's nice to be able to move around easily.

this sunday, i’m doing my 16th charter trip of 2021, starting with an ice fishing trip in january. including several freshwater trips for smallmouth and perch. i’m really getting into it with my kids. they are loving it and it’s raised my love of it to a new level. few things make me quite as happy as seeing them giggle with glee when reeling in a fish.

Check out the towing weight of the 23. They build a very solid boat and it has a lot of glass in it. I looked at a 21 about and I believe the hull was advertised as 4000#. I called the factory to see if that was accurate and they said it was the hull without the engine. I can’t believe it was correct but that ended my search. Check the weights just to be sure. My 4RUNNER has a towing capacity of 5000#. A 4000# hull plus a motor, trailer and fuel would have put way over my vehicles capacity.

Hey thanks Pat, I'm a regular at Rivers End.

I don't know if I'll be towing (hopefully not) but I have a full sized truck as I frequently tow a camping trailer.
