Surf Asylum Flatglide
For those of you that fish these a bunch, how do you rig them? I had historically rigged them with two cut 3/0 trebles, but thinking this may not be the best setup.

Before u fish them check the balance in the water. They should drop fairly level. This will help getting the desired spook like action if so desired. You reel them like any needle nut can.impart rod twitch to get zig zag. Also good idea to keep eye on line slack going on reel. Dreaded line knots are very possible.

This or (2) 3/0 5x mustads
Or, (1) 4/0 vmc front and an eel skin on the back with 3 or 4 clips for counter weight inside the skin.

Which size? If I am not mistaken, Dave makes 3 different sizes. I fish the middle size with a 4/0 Mustad 5x on 6.5H split for the belly and dressed flag on the back.

As I know he made 2 sizes. 8 1/2 & small one. Not sure of length, 6-7".
Thats a heavy hook w/o a counter weight. Does it drop.fairly level.?
I have designed my own version of similarity. Slightly slimmer and narrower. Took it out for a test ride yesterday. Very good darting movement and a level slow drop. 3/0 & flag. I weighted it for vmc but can make minor change to use 4/0 or Mustad for a level drop.

He makes 3 sizes, small size he brings to the jersey shows. Not sure exact size on small one but he makes that size, the 8 1/2” and the 10” model.
