No, and they aren't up in Mass. either. I'm beggining to think they rounded the cape and are hiding out up in Maine. But BillB is too busy catchin' to tell us about it, either that or he's still shoveling snow and he doesn't know they are at his favorite ledge already.

I do know that the sunfish are biting. My son begged me this afternoon to take a break from work and bring him and his two friends down to the mudhole for a little fishing , what could I say. So they dug up some worms ,I grabbed 3 rods and they each caught a couple sunnies. At least it was fish! I was the official untangler and fish releaser.

I can't wait until Liam is old enough for sunnys at the pond. Just think, a 4 year old Liam show's up with his 5 foot Lami Titaniam with mini-VS reel (yeh, right), dark shades, splash pants, Korkers, and a Falcon Rods hat reversed on his head... Wormman!!! :-D

I pitty those Maine fools and my brother in law is one of them, from Ellsworth. They have a long *ss winter, late ice out so you can't even fish fresh water until the stripes arrive and even after ice out, you have to wait until the season opens for the target species.

I do love those Maine smallies though and John (brother in law) and I are already planning a couple long weekend camping trips. I only wish they could put the fighting ability of the smallmouth bass into the striper, mixed maybe with the speed of a bluefish or tuna family and then we'd have ourselves a FISH. Pound for pound, the smallmouth bass is damn close to the top of my list.

Never have, most of my fishing has been limited to the Plymouth area north to Boston Harbor. I've heard they are a ball on light tackle and I'd love to have someone from the board take me out and show me the ropes.

On a side note John, lately I need to scroll right on my laptop screen to see all the message and also close my favorites. I used to be able to keep my favorites open to the left and not have to scroll right, just up and down if it was a long post. Has something changed on your end? Can I do something on my end to correct it?

GS - we hope to have a couple Albie fests in late summer and they are a trip from boat or shore!!! They hit at about 20 mph and keep going but are pretty much a light tackle fish as you are often site casting a 3/4 to 1.5 oz lure in front of their path when visible. It always amazes me when you see them swiming through the crest of a wave at speeds that make a blue look like a flounder...
