Fat Lady encore in RI
There were fish taken at Carpenters and Charlestown Beach this week. The fish at Charlestown were in the 20 lb range.

I was hoping someone was still catching fish in RI. I've been a bit lazy but might venture out when it gets a bit warmer.

My bet is that this was 2 seperate pods of decent fish. Hope they don't go right by the NY guys with this big Northeaster. I'm going to try again on Wednesday with the warmer temps coming in maybe there are still a pod or two left. I know 2 good fishermen from Narraganset that found a pod of 15 lb fish last Dec 15th in Narragansett.

Maybe these are resident males that stay all year?

I don't know about the residents that stay all year. If that were the case then how do the females get pregnant? The rule of thumb has been that the fish leave below 50 degrees. Now there are holdovers that find pockets of warm water around the powerplants but they sure as heck are not hanging around Quonny or Narrow River. No, I believe that these are late migrators.
