I want a digital camera, any suggestions? But, of course, I don't want to spend lots of coin on one. I think that it's pretty cool that you can take a picture, then show it, and then, if you want to, delete it. Can I bring one of these on night bass trips? Will the flash work? Don't know a thing about photography.

Cannon powershot S-400 is about $350 and well worth it. 4 megapixels, zoom, compact flash card and many features. Great camera. Flash works at night and at low light.

If you like to read manuals.. the Mustek MDC 3500 is a decent sub $100 digital camera that uses SD memory. If you use Windows XP and you have an extra usb port then all you need to do is plug it in...
Picture Quality is great but the camcorder part sucks low low res.
it's a 3.1 megapixel or so it say's it is.. the zoom part sucks as it's fixed in the menu settings but for under $100 bucks.. you can snap pic's of your prized catch/whatever.
Best part is if you drop it in the water you wont be as mad as if you spent $300-$500 on a digital camera..
pic's i've posted here were all taken with the MDC 3500.
Bloocrab,
If you or Tattoo still has that kodak camera check this out... http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml02/02246.html
hehe.. you can just say i was swaping batteries in the surf upto my waist and i got this nasty zap and .......
if the serials match

Gateway Store
There is also a Gateway Country Store on Route 37 In Braintree, MA. Coming from the north it is before the South Shore Plaza on the left side of the road. Also there is a set of traffic lights just before going under 128, turn left there and the store is immediately on the left.

DEATH TO Olympus
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BUY AN OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA. THEY ALL SUFFER THE SAME FATE. ITS CALLED SDS FOR SUDDEN DEATH TO DOWNLOAD SYNDROME. THEY ALL DEVELOP PROBLEMS WHICH ORIGINATE AT THE CAMERA PORTS WHERE USER ATTACHES THE DOWNLOAD CORDS TO THE CAMERA. THE OTHER END OF THE CORD ATTACHES TO (DEPENDING ON AGE OF CAMERA)EITHER USB PORT (NEWER CAMERA) OR TO THE BACK OF YOUR TOWER (OLDER CAMERA). WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT INSIDE THE CAMERA THE WIRING CONNECTIONS COME LOOSE AND IT BECOMES DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN THE CONNECTION. THERE ARE MANY WEB SITES THAT ANYONE CAN GO TO TO REFERENCE THIS PROBLEM WITH OLYMPUS CAMERAS. THIS POST IS NOT JUST ONE PERSONS SOUR GRAPES. ALSO OLYMPUS DESN'T COVER THIS ON WARRANTY AND THEY CHARGE APPROXIMATELY $400.00 TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. WHAT ONE CAN DO TO FIX THE PROBLEM ON THEIR OWN IS GO TO CIRCUIT CITY AND BUY A FLASH PATH SMART DISK ADAPTER FROM SMART MEDIA, IN WHICH YOU CAN INSERT YOUR SMART CARD INTO THE FLOPPT DISK ACCESS ON YOUR TOWER AND THE PROGRAM THAT COMES WITH IT ALLOWS THE CAMERA USER TO UPLOAD ALL THE PICTURES IN THAT FASHION AT A TOTAL COST OF $19.95. OLYPUS WONT TELL YOU THAT THE PROBLEM CAN BE SOLVED SO CHEAPLY. I WAS LUCKY IN THAT I NEW SOMEONE WHO WORKED AT CIRCUIT CITY, OLYMPUS IS REALLY OBSTINATE ABOUT RECTIFYING THIS PROBLEM. I DECIDED TO MAKE IT MY DUTY TO TELL ANYONE/EVERYONE TO BUY ANOTHER BRAND OF CAMERA. MERRY XMAS

I could never download my pictures with that wire or cord that came with it..had to buy a "card reader" to view pictures with computer.. no more problems. Thinking about upgrading in the future..might not go with another Olympus.

I am shopping for a camera as well. My priorities are:
1-Wateproof
2-Inexpensive (not a $500 box)
3-Megapixels (anything over a megapixel or two is OK. I'm not going to print 8x10's
Other then the Olympus any other waterproof??
