RE:Tobias ???

Hey John - Reel is still seizing up but I think I figured out what's wrong with the reel. When I first posted the problem with the reel and initially took it apart to find out what the problem was I found a lot of black type shavings in and around the main gear. I thought it was just dirt but was actually shavings from the yoke(pinion gear holder). For some reason the pinion gear was rubbing against the yoke and wearing away the yoke. So I ordered a yoke and hopefully this will remedy the problem. The old yoke was not holding the pinion gear in place so I think that is why the reel would seize up during casting. My question now is why was the pinion gear rubbing against the yoke to cause it to wear away at the yoke? I am hoping a new yoke will solve the problem.

RE:Tobias ???

That's odd. I have not heard of that problem with the reel. Did you find those clips at Home Depot??

RE:Tobias ???

They had the clips at home depot but they were too big. I wasn't able to find any small enough so I ordered a couple from Bucko's. Just hope the new yoke fixes the problem.
