plugs and bait

Do any of you guys fish both plugs and bait at the same time. Could you rig one rod far out, one close to shore and the last for plugs or is this too much to handle?

During the dog days of summer, I sometimes like to chunk a rod and throw plugs close by.

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Post lot of irons in the fire

Hey Jfisher......i think, and this is just my .02...three lines out at one time could be a little tough. If you do get into a big fish....he may get you all snaggled up. I personally run two at the most...and usually only the rod in my hand at night. A big line-sider or Boo can snatch ya set rod off the rocks reel friggin quick..heehee.....i went swimming a couple summers ago!

hmmmm...beeerrr
screaming drag = happiness

We use to set up worming rods and plug at the same time.
that was when I was Trailer Trash on Nauset
Good times
But if Your fishing sand You can do it and be near Your bait rod.
I even used glow plugs at night
some nights the worm rigs would be going down all night
other nights it was Bombers or eels...........

if im chunking, which i barely do, i only use one rod and i don't throw plugs. i've lost fish because i've been reeling in my plug when i get a hit on the chunk. but like bigfish said, if its a hot sunny day and im on the cape i sometimes like to throw out sand eels and relax.

When I fish certain places at night (like MV) I will have a rod with bait in a sand spike and throw plugs close by. It's alot of fun when you get a fish on both rods at the sametime.
