Maloney! Just back from North Beach... you should see the Raccoons, never mind the coyotes, these guys are some fat!
But, I just can't figger shooting coyotes, poisoning seagulls, trapping and killing skunks, (all have been done on South Beach and Monomoy, over the last several years) to supposedly save one or maybe two other species... I'll never get it. Will somebody get a copy of Darwins Survival of the Fittest to these folks, Please!

Hey Karl, bring back home anything from the beach other than wildlife memories??? Yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I made the post. If no humans were allowed anywhere on any beach, nature would find her own balance. Species have been coming and going forever. Hey, we are playing to the choir. To the anti's nothing makes sense unless it is their two cents.

well when they are in your trash in the yard and coming around the house in the day time you will be thinking different!!
We are having are trash raided everynight here!! I have locked the trash barrles up and they just tear the crap out if them!! I have started going to the dump everyday now so as not to put anything out side!! A few pets have been missing around here also!
8am Sunday morning I was coming home from work and I parked the truck and started to the door of the house and I heard a noise?? I went down the side of the house to scare 2 Coyotes trying to dig something up under the deck!! Never did figure out what they were trying to get at??
I now have my 22 out and loaded!! I am going to kill what ever I can when they come around!!
I am sorry for the birds and stuff and feel like you guys!! But there is just to many of these things and they are growing like crazy!! So its open season as far as i am concerned!

Down in Falmouth last year, we saw quite a few coyotes growing, and there was a pack of a Coyote Mama and her kids, and I thought it was cool.
Of course, when people's cats start disappearing, and the rabbit population goes downhill, people throw a hissy. 
Now only if the Coyotes can reduce the skunk population, cuz skunks are a menace to society. |

Its a good argument to let nature take its course but we already upset the balance. We eliminated larger preditors like bears and wolves and anything that might keep coyotes in check. Now we need to do our own natural selection. i think if they keep in the wild , no problem. They come near houses with kids , pets , trash etc , its time for target practice.

You got to be joking. The Feds can kill 14 dogs to protect the birds but here in Hull where we have had three close calls with kids the Town can not kill one and her pups that unfortunately live next to a school.

It is screwed up.
We have a very large transient pack in our area. We have had puppies playing out on the cul de sac, coyotes in the yard in the middle of the day & the town won't do anything - some dopes even feed them!
Since we have 3 kids, our solution was to become dog owners (again). One lab/ border collie and one Rottie/ Shepherd roaming the yard with an invisible fence has greatly deterred any action in our area.

Just out of curiosity, what are the regs about hunting 'yotes in MA? in RI and CT they are considered pests and can be shot on site 365 days a year (provided its safe to do so).

I remember a tragic accident on a Mass highway when some kids where driving along and hit a water spot, a flooded spot that had been created when beavers built a damn near the road. The kids hit it, car crashed, and they died. For What? It was a result of the ban on trapping that the anti's got through some years ago. The beavers created a dam where none had exsisted before.
Sadly, someone will get hurt, a child, by the overpopulation of yotes, and the anti's will be saying, "Oh well, we (humans and animals) must live together." Makes one sick.

Damn, that 6oz pyramid pokes a nice hole, don't it!? They get inside the perimeter and their fuzzy butt gets wacked. I'm the only predator allowed there.
