Talking Raider Ron To Begin His Surfcasting Career.......

and in the dark no less! Ron has never been surfcasting in his life, according to him! Well, come over to where real fisherman get it done......and this time...."they count"! I am taking Ron down the backside tomorrow night and also the Race to give him a real surf "primer"! An all-night marathon with the BigFish! It should be fun, huh Ron?

All right, lets go!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

You have to be vewwwwwy quiet when you're hunting wabbits.....

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

Coffee, water, candy bars, or energy bars.
Medium weight hooded sweatshirt, gettin' chilly & damp at night now. Extra socks, for after you get outta the waders, fresh socks, feel great. Keep your eyes adjusted to the dark, avoid light, unless you absolutely need it, it will take a while to adjust back.
Larry knows that beach, watch and listen, use your nose too....
eels, bombers, needlefish...
Did I mention coffee, you can't have enough...
Oh yeah...
have fun!

OK,
Got home and took a MUCH need shower and took a few more than I probably should have Aleves for my ACHING legs and feet from walking in the sand!!!
Had a great day with Larry on the beach!
We started somewhere aroung 2.00 am and I got the 1st fish!!!!!
In the pitch dark!!!
We ended up getting the same number of fish caught, all Bluefish, no bass
Larry ended up getting the largest blue, though most all were small fish!
I definitely plan to go again, hopefully during the fall when the fishing is much more productive!
Now it's my turn to get him on the boat and kick his but cod fishing!!!
