Who's Fishing NY's Mecca?
Alrighty now...
You read about it...
You heard about it...
And you dreamed about it....
Just wondering... How many of you are planning to fish Montauk, NY - The Surfcasting Capital of the World?

Kinder and freindlier banter please or I'll beam you back to that poor excuse of a planet. Why don't you go ask Johnny Kronuch where all the hot spots are and tell him you're from NJ.

somebody please explain to me then...
Why do New Yorkers, and New Jersey folk drive to the cape to fish, when they got Montaulk? Also, Why in God's name do they drive right by, and thru Rhody? I don't get it, some of the best area to cover, and they come to this fish-barren, tired old sand bar.......maybe the ditch, but the outer... nahhh.

Hey, Martian-boy,
Don't you know the fishing is better on the North Fork?
There's a great little surfcasting spot called Plum Gut. You just need to walk a little further off the jetty at the cable crossing. Just a little. Don't worry about the rip, the water's real shallow there and you can walk out as far as you can. A full moon is best.

Martian-boy,
I want to introduce you to my friend Larry Pinkwaders. He is a thong-clad a-t-t-o-r-n-e-y, he'll make your eel wiggle, definitely your type. You and him would fit in real good at Fire Island.

Mike, I heard Montauk was somewhere in New Jersey.
Chris, you are mistaken, I won a chance to rummage through Gloucester2's cod jig bag.

Is that like the Hamptons? I'll go if Billy Joel puts on a keg paaaarrrtttyy and smashes up another car for entertainment.
The Vineyard is MECCA! Every place else is just purgatory.

The LIE. Unless you already live on Long Island there really is no such thing as a day trip out to Montauk. Three day weekends turn out to be 2 days of travel and a day to fish. My uncle though up in Bridgeport claims to take a short ferry ride out to Montauk for a long day of fishing. Life just sometimes doesn't seem right. I need to take a trip up to Bridgeport soon.

When I caught my first bass I was hooked more than the fish.
