Talking Its the Muppet Show!

I always wondered where I got my love of dumb jokes and appreciation for music. I grew up watching this show and never really gave it any thought in the last 20 years. Well, I’ve been renting some of the show’s DVDs to watch with my daughter. I have been falling off the seat laughing so hard. That has to be one of the funniest shows ever. The jokes are so dumb, they kill me. Great guests and great music. Really creative stuff.
If you used to watch this as a kid, rent these and watch them again, defiantly adult humor and very enjoyable. I think my entire adult personality has been formulated by watching this show.

I remember my Grandfather absolutely hated TV. Never watched it for probably 20 years. One night my cousin is over the house and turns on the TV and puts on the Muppet Show. My Grandfather sees it and is practically falling off the chair he's laughing so hard.

After that he never missd an episode, and it was the only show he would watch.

Absolutely loved Statler and Waldorf, The 2 old guys in the balcony

Katie, here are a few jokes from the episode I watched last night.

During the intro, they cut to Gonzo sitting down backstage – He says “ Right before I go on stage I always get the butterflies”, Suddenly a big butterfly appears with a hammer, hits Gonzo in the head and says “ Not this time!”

Ha ha – get it? He gets the butterflies, the butterfly hits him and says not this time!!!! The butterfly “gets” him!!!!!!

Heres another, after a skit with some Eskimos, Staler says “I wonder why they brought the igloo?” Waldorf replies “Maybe their Ig was broken”

Absolute brilliance.
