Talking Thank You Weekapaug

Don, Thank you for the hospitality! The grills were the ticket to get us started and the shop made a nice central location to rally on and eat cheese sandwiches at during the night.

Had a great time this weekend, met some good people and loaded up on some good food, unfortunately the monsters didn't cooperate.

Had a great time yesterday . What a great location for a fishing gathering. Didn't see a fish caught or even hear about one caught from Friday night to Sat sunset. Talked to a guy who caught 16 fish Friday afternoon . Bad timing. Had fun fishing anyway.

Got a flat on the way home and somehow must have twisted my knee changing it and I'm hobbling around now. Hate that!

I didn't fish as part of the Rhody leg but did fish Friday night in RI and had fish to the mid teens. There were probably a dozen or so stripers taken where I was, the biggest being 20lb, along with a few huge bluefish. The swells started to build around 8:00pm Friday night and I would imagine gained height as the weekend progressed. There were a ton of small bluefish at Fresh Pond Rock Friday afternoon also but most were out of casting range.

Don,

What can I say? You made your shop feel like home. Without that place, this whole thing wouldn't have been so cool. Good luck with the shop in the future, if I'm ever up your way I'll stop in when I have some more money.

Smile where to start!?

Well I finally got in around 1 am last night, thanks to patrick's parents paying for my bus ticket...still trying to air out my boots..

Thank you all so much for a wonderful weekend. Don, for the clean bathroom and the use of your shop, not to mention your unfailing generosity and friendliness....John! thanks for the taxi service..lol..and the use of that beautiful rod of yours. I want your wife's poundcake recipe...mmm....Chris, thanks so much for the ride back to fairfield. Everyone, thanks for being so nice and not laughing too hard at my casting...I had a great time even though the fish didn't cooperate. The food was great too! Next year I'll cook up something grand for everyone. Hopefully by then I'll be a little better and I'll have some waders..lol..
Thanks again guys. You're all stuck with me now...lol...

Mindi....dont worry about it...I am STILL working at it!! and the best thing to do is to laugh at yourself FIRST (then it doesnt seem so bad if others do it!! )
