Bigger is better in the bandsaw dept though if you have the room. Smaller machines eat up blades quicker. I have a small Delta and am looking to upgrade.

I got the same machine. It's ok use it a lot for 3/4-1.5" stock has not failed me yet.
I also got 6 blades when wood workers went out for $6.00 each.

You may be able to install a spacer in the frame to get the extra inch you need to use a standard blade.
They make a spacer kit to increase the size of a Delta or Jet for people saw a lot of tall stuff but do not need the space between the blade and the frame.
