Weekend Plans?

So what does everyone have planned for the Holidays? I'm staying home today and going up to my aunt's house tomorrow. Since I'm Italian, there will be many fishes.

HAMMER TIME!

Talking Merry Christmas To All My Fellow S-Bassers!

Tie up loose ends today and get ready for our open house tonight. Then Santa arrives late tonight leaving many gifts for good little boys and girls around our tree......wake up in the am with the 2 LittleFish and Fishchick and enjoy the morning exchanging gifts and making merry! Tomorrow afternoon go to Moms for family get together, more gifts and merry making and dinner. Tomorrow night arrive home, surf the site to see how you all enjoyed your holiday....kick back with Fishchick in front of the tube and watch a couple of favorite Christmas movies and pass out.

Here is wishing you all the best this Holiday Season has to offer!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

I KNOW NNOTTHHHIIINNNGGGG!!!!!

Officially, Christmas Eve was always a biggy at our home growing up - so tonight it's tons of finger food and sweets, the traditional cup of 'Nog or ...uhhh...two (I've got a quart of eggnog and a half-gallon of rum) - stuff Mrs. Crafty's stocking with fishing stuff since she started surfcasting this past season with me - and if she doesn't like what she got, well.....we'll find something to do with it. But that's not likely, she now enjoys it all!

Tomorrow, Christmas Day, it's dinner with my Italian uncle and the cousins - no feesh, though - it's a prime rib and a rack of lamb. He's the oldest living member of my family at 93 (my aunt is a very young 92 ) and they're a hoot - sharp as a tack and they remember RI and Newport waaay back when - URI Class of '34. It's amazing to hear first-hand stories of the Great Hurricane, the Bellevue Avenue crowd and my grandpa's career as a...well, importer of fine spirits to Newport - etc etc. It's gonna be fun, anyway. Until a couple of years ago my uncle was still shooting his age at the Newport CC - and he can martini most people under the table with ease. It's all in the genes he says - I hope I've got them -

Let's see....Sunday we'll do a ham for ourselves, warm German potato salad, deviled eggs, etc etc. And perhaps another cup of rum laced with eggnog It wouldn't be Christmas without it!

But during it all let's all take a moment to stop and bow our heads to remember those who are far from home and family - and say a prayer for their safe return.

Buon Natale, y'all The very best to you and yours from me and Mrs. Crafty!

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.

I'm pouring plastic for Monahans in Weymouth and Sandwich Bait & Tackle over the weekend, but I did get a jump on my weekend today with a cold but outstanding day on the water. I've got Monday off, so I'm hoping to repeat then if the fish will cooperate.

I fished the river year before last with some good success.
Nothing big but it was nice to bend a rod in January.

I've also had shore access to a local power plant warm water discharge and have done well there.I haven't done that since before Sept.11 '01 so I don't know what the possibility of that is anymore.I haven't talked to my friend who works there in quite some time.Maybe I'll ring him.

Worked yesterday, then to the girlie's parents at night.
Cooking brunch at her house this am, then back here to cook dinner for my parents. Word on the street says there's gonna be a raging party at my house tonight, something like 40 people...Hope I don't get arrested!!!
Merry Christmas everybody!!!
