How many do you make????
One of the things that I did this past week was to hang all my plugs up in one spot, my little man cave down in the basement...
I discovered a few things. first, I have alot more plugs than I thought I did. Second, I have one or two of each... And a lot of different ones. I've had fun doing them, but I realized that I need to become more methodical in what I make in order to be ready for spring. I began thinking about what I needed and wanted to do/make and quickly realized that it could add up to well over a hundred plugs when you think of the various styles, sizes and colors you might need. Hence, my question, what do some of you more expeienced guys do? What determines what you make and how many of each plug you make?

I have a few favorites that I use a lot. Usually a couple of colors that are real productive for me. I'll typically do a run of ten of each when its time for more. Some for me and some end up with friends. When I'm trying new stuff, I'll make up a few in my favorite colors and see how they work. If they work well, I'll make up another batch.

Answer my own question...
I spent a lot of time thinking about this yesterday as I was puttering around in the basement. I remembered a post that Bassmaster had made about sticking to some of the basics and decided that was what I would do. Start with what I know and try to improve on that. Pick a few things to try to do new and do them well.
So, I know certain poppers in certain colors and sizes work for me where I fish, as do the smaller danny plugs and some of the swimmers. So, do them first. Then decide on a few other things. Eel plugs, the jointed swimmers, some big poppers, bigger dannies. Oh yeah, needles. Got to do them this year...
Basic colors, get the weight and action right and work on presentation and reading the water.
Sounds like a plan.... Good to go...

My runs are small compared to some of the builders'. 15-20. I might keep 4-5 . The rest are given or traded away. But still the rafters of my Jake Cave are starting to look a lot like Bassmaster's. My runs styles are determined solely by what possesses me at the moment, I'll have a Needle fit, followed by Danny Fever, now I feel a case of Lipless Swimmer coming on.

So you are saying that if I don't give away some of your spots, you'll send me a plug or three

Actually, I plan on destroying that crank on Hybrids One like that would be cool. May be a shot of black or blue down the back over the skin. I'll make it worth your while

Ok, is the size ok I was thinking maybe a lil bigger and maybe with a bigger lip to get it down low, I didnt know your lakes were THAT deep ok sound good. I gotta stop slacking and build more than a couple dozen plugs this year But I have one ready for ya with the same dna, well actually a dozen but you dont need them all at once

Actually, the striper lake I fish is 160 feet deep, but we don't fish any deeper than 100 feet. Can you get it to dig that deep One just like the first one, or a larger size would be cool. I'll put either to good use. The first one you sent has a real nice wiggle to it
