Fishing for squid?

They were in the canal pretty thick last night and i managed to get 8 of them. The question is do they actually go after a squid jig or do you just hope to snag em? They didnt seem to want anything to do with the jig, they would swim away from it. It was a pain in the butt snaggin them but it did work. I live lined one and got a decent schoolie on it. Also ran into an EPO last night, first time ive seen one away from the herring run. He was good luck for the girl i was with, she hooked up with a 27" right when he showed up, he stayed for the fight and release.

Everything is better on the rocks.
