Seafood & Health ’05: Issues, Questions, and Answers

Seafood & Health ’05: Issues, Questions, and Answers

Join researchers from around the world as they present the latest findings on the benefits and risks of seafood consumption on December 5-7, 2005 in Washington, DC. This conference will provide consumers with the information they need to make informed decisions about seafood.
The goals of the conference are to: facilitate science-based, non-political discussions about the role of seafood in a healthy diet; examine the role of seafood in other cultures or subpopulations; provide information that will help consumers balance the benefits and risks of seafood consumption; and understand how new knowledge of the benefits and risks can affect the health of specific population segments. The conference will bring together medical and health professionals, researchers, nutrition educators, dietitians, policy makers, opinion leaders, journalists, and the seafood industry from around the world.

Seafood & Health '05 is sponsored by NOAA Fisheries Service, the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Fisheries, Department of Fisheries and Oceans of Canada; and the Ministry of Fisheries of Iceland. The conference will take place with the technical participation of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). Early registration is available at a discount through August 1, 2005. Standard registration is open until November 1, 2005.
