To date, I would agree. I've looked at that photo many many times since Mikey posted it. I'm just trying ti imagine the feeling of being there. I've been involved with blitzes before but always with much smaller fish. Totally awesome!

OUTSTANDING!! Just look at that side profile of the bass dead center. That looks rather "large" ! That is AWESOME!

Had that happen at Hatches once in July many moons ago. Frank Rufino got a 62 pounder that morning there. Ahh, it's experiences like that that keep you warm on cold winter nights!

I really couldn't believe what was going on. I started to sweat and was basically just fishing on cruise control. It was funny, I would look over to anglers on the side of me, and there were no words spoken. People would just look at each other and shake their heads in disbelief. Part of me is wondering if that will be the best fishing experience of my life, and if there is anything more to look forward to. Oh yeah, I still need that fifty. Glad you guys liked the shot.

If you could only see a video of that blitz and hear the sound of ALL those tails slapping at once. That photo does that morning no justice but I suppose it is some nice fish porn for the unlucky. Notice the bait on the beach that was committing hari-cari, now you know how Custer must have felt.

I like the lack of a human in the photo...just the target species...BOMBA...you should send that photo to OTW for consideration of a cover shot.
Most fisherman never see bass feeding like that...ever, esp from the shore.

me too...11 years ago..two morning's in a row on north beach..smaller fish were in shallow, 3" of water..then the med. size then lrg. catch a large, pull it in and the other's would move aside to let it through,., then close in right behind it...only lasted half an hour then the huge school was gone..they were there to catch the sandeels coming out of a shallow trough...only one there...no camera back then.

That is a great Pic,& quality size fish too.
Only thing better would be to be there in person. The sound they make when they are rolling that way becomes etched in your mind forever.
Ive seen this several times at Montauk, but not large fish like these.
